The Zero Altar is an establishment found near the Sell Shop street in World 10 and in Highwind Marketplace. It allows the player to merge 7 different Tier 5 equipment of the same type to forge Zero Gear, the most powerful type of equipment in the game.
Forging Zero Gear[]
Walking up to the Zero Altar presents the player with options to forge any of the 9 possible types of Zero Gear. 7 item slots displaying random Tier 5 equipment of the same type will appear in a vaguely circular shape, automatically filling in each slot when the player has eligible items in their inventory. These slots are not locked to any specific item and can be replaced by another, as long as another of the same item is not present.
If all 7 slots are filled, the Zero Altar will take the average level of all 7 items and round down to the nearest whole number. If more than 7 eligible items are held in the player's inventory, they can select any individual slot to place a different eligible item. The player will then be prompted to select which perks from the selected items will be used to forge the desired Zero Gear. Each perk can only be selected once and Perk 3 is the only slot capable of holding a Tier 5 perk.
After selecting desired perks, a button appears to "fuse" the Zero Gear at the price of 1,000,000 and all 7 selected items. If the Skip Cutscenes setting is disabled, a cutscene will play with each item appearing and connecting a trail towards the center of the altar before firing a large beam of light into the sky, dissipating to reveal the crafted Zero Gear. A message is broadcasted to all players in the server to announce the forged Zero Gear, stating the player's name, the item type, and its level. (e.g: [Player] has forged a Level ? Zero [Weapon type]!)
Tips and Tricks[]
- Collecting equipment is only required from 7 different worlds, allowing the player to skip 3 worlds if necessary.
- It is advised to complete dungeons from Nightmare Portals or the Infinite Tower to obtain Level 150 equipment from lower worlds. Level 150 equipment from World 10 can be obtained by completing Astral Academy or the Arcane Tower.
- Using lower-level equipment is not recommended since the level of the Zero Gear will require 3 Empowering Stones per empowered level to bring it up to Level 150.
- Unless going for World 10-exclusive perks, grinding World 10 equipment can prove to be much slower as enemies in these missions are significantly more difficult to defeat than in previous worlds.
- It is advised to save at least 500,000 to upgrade Zero Gear, as the upgrade success rate from upgrades 11 - 20 drops to 15%.
- The highest possible perk percentages are ideal for creating an efficient set of Zero Gear. The current PvE perk meta is as follows:
- Zero Armor: Bonus Ult Charge 15%, Untouchable 20%, Glass 100%
- Bonus Ult Charge 15% can be substituted with Rough Skin 9%/Damage Reduction 8% for Spirit Archer and Mage of Light, as Spirit Archer's ultimate is not affected by the perk and Mage of Light's ultimate can be closely replicated using Healing Circle and Barrier.
- Untouchable 20% can be replaced with Agility 5% for players proficient in avoiding attacks.
- Zero Weapons: Attack UP 8%, Crit Stack 15%, Mob Slayer/Boss Bane 30%
- Life Drain 6% can replace Crit Stack 15% or to assist with survivability. Vampiric 15% is also an option.
- All classes except Summoner prioritize Boss Bane over Mob Slayer. Dual-wielding classes can use both perks on each of their weapons.
- Since the perk revamp update, Mob Slayer/Boss Bane will also increase the incoming damage from said enemies. So make sure to have decent dodging skills if combined with Glass 100%.
- Zero Armor: Bonus Ult Charge 15%, Untouchable 20%, Glass 100%
Trivia[]
- Due to conflicting tiers with cosmetic items, Zero Gear is internally classified as "Tier 7" items, although it is displayed with 6 stars in item cards and is shown to have the "Zero Gear" tier after forging.
- World 9's Tier 5 equipment was leaked through the Zero Altar before the world's official release, appearing in various slots for a few types of Zero Gear.
- Shortly after its release, the Zero Altar displayed the unobtainable Spider Staff and Blademaster Robe as requirements for forging Zero Gear. Both of these items were excluded from appearing in the altar in a later update.
- The Zero Altar was formerly available in World 7 and World 8 before the Spring/Valentines Battlepass update on February 10, 2023. It was removed to restrict Zero Gear to be exclusively endgame content.
- However, for player convenience, it is added in the new Highwind Marketplace when it released.
- The Zero Greatsword (named as the "Zero Backsword") and Zero Staff became limited UGC items that could be unlocked through completing various challenges.
- The Greatsword was awarded to the first 10,000 players to defeat 1,000 mobs in the Celestial Tower from August 11th to August 18th, 2023.
- The Staff was awarded to the first 10,000 players to complete 6 weekly quests from September 9th to September 15th, 2023.
