Overview[]
Like Dual Wielder, Shadowblade holsters two longswords however has a different idle and sheath animation on first notice. It also has a similar dash distance to Demon/Necromancer with it being a roll than aerial spin. Swinging the sword displays dark-purple crescents, with the animations remaining with low posture.
The traits of this class are fundamentally different compared to Dual Wielder. Despite the similarities, Shadowblade is the silent cousin as most if not all of the skills promote the stealthy gameplay. This is courtesy to its unique status, Shadow Mode, which is activated via either Shadow Cloak or Realm of Shadows. The user would be rendered invisible, with all attacks becoming critical blows while inflicting 20% more damage and gains a 60% movement speed boost within the duration. If activated through Shadow Cloak, only one attack is a critical blow and will remove the mode. Using your mount will also remove it, even if used in the Ultimate.
Tips and Tricks[]
- Shadow Cloak can be used to quickly travel without a mount.
- Although riding a mount in Shadow Mode removes the effect, dodging before doing so will prevent the effect from being removed.
- Rounding up mobs into groups increases the amount of targets hit by all of Shadowblade's attack skills, most notably on Shadow Leap and Shadow Strike.
- Because Shadowblade's main niche centers with critical hits, it's best paired with armor that has the Glass perk.
- In addition, this class also does not require Vampiric or Ferocious perks since the majority of your gameplay consists of utilizing Shadow Cloak. Boss Bane or Mob Slayer are the primary choices since damage is immediate than having to receive attacks. Attack UP, Energized, Life Drain & Agility are top side perks.
- White Foxdeer is the most effective pet for this in terms of dishing out a lot of damage. Second to this is Klaus pet, however Klaus can act as a tool for getting around while dealing more damage with the defense boost being a bonus.
- Realm of Shadows can prove to be very useful in PvP, as a successful hit can temporally disable other players' skills and prevent them from dashing.
