Empowering Stones are special items introduced in the World 8 update used to increase the level of equipment.
Empowering Stones can be obtained by defeating bosses Level 60 or higher. Bosses from World 5 to World 8 drop orange Empowering Stones, bosses in World 9 drop purple Empowering Stones, and bosses in World 10 and Nightmare Dungeons drop pink Empowering Stones.
Usage[]
Empowering is unlocked at Level 60 but can be done in any world with an upgrade station. Selecting an item will automatically place the required Empowering Stone in its slot, and paying the determined cost of Gold to empower the item will increase its level by 1.
Tier 1 - 5 equipment requires 1 Empowering Stone per level, while Zero Gear requires 3 per level. The Gold cost to empower equipment scales with level, following the formula (1,750 * Current Weapon Level) + 5,000.
Each Empowering Stone has a specified level range and cannot be used on equipment outside of their designated limits:
- World 8 (Orange): Level 1 - 114
- World 9 (Purple): Level 115 - 129
- World 10 (Pink): Level 130 - 149
Equipment cannot be empowered past the player's current level.
Trivia[]
- The model for Empowering Stones is a set of two recolored crystals from the Unravel Stone.
- World Event bosses drop Empowering Stones through the chests that spawn after completion rather than from the boss itself.
- The Fallen King, Korrupted Klaus, Vane, Mother of Dragons, Darkrise, Father of Dragons, The Kraken (Event) and Davy, King of the Sea (Event) are the only bosses that drop orange Empowering Stones past Level 115 in order to prevent newer players from obtaining variants they would not normally obtain.
- While in development, Empowering Stones were initially planned to have a drop rate of 1.25%, which was changed to 5% when it was released and later to the current rate of 10% in an update on July 15, 2022.
- In the same update, the requirement to empower Zero Gear was lowered from 5 per level to 3 per level.
- The orange Empowering Stone remained untradeable from its release until the Oasis Tower update.
- Empowering Stones were Tier 1 items until the World 10 update.
